Exposition
Snow condition
you can still get into the valley, but you have to see how it works out in expo-s. for mid april and at this altitude, but pretty good snow conditions.
Snow quality
today it was all there, depending on the expo. s to o, carrying cap and fine firn on top. n to o, depending on how much sun was already in it, pow to capped pow. above 1500m, sometimes still very nice to ski.
Risks
Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)
relatively safe today. we didn't see any wet or loose snow slides. in the summit area, two smaller snow slabs, in expo-s, probably from yesterday. in expo-n, the new snow is holding pretty well on the hard and hardened old snow cover. opposite, in expo-n, the wildest steepest runs were made today, not even spindrift came down there.
Overall impression
same weather as yesterday. relatively cold, wind from north to east. first swells from 10am and then relatively quickly closed cloud cover, plus fog banks at the summit, from the north. with the coming precipitation, reassess. there will probably be some fresh snow above 1600m. but basically nothing will change in the overall situation. it will become more spring-like with each passing day.
