Powder ski tour turns out to be drift snow scouting.

locally very good for December (sheltered from the wind) other places very poor. see photos

Snow quality

Powdery snow, often with wind in it, deep but not very soft and loose. About sleet and most of it bound

Drifting snow in all directions. Crossing into a small steep slope in the sparse forest let a deliberately provoked board go down. about 35 cm crack height. height fluctuating about7 m board. run-out about 15 m

Overall impression

im Wald noch nicht genug. im Glachen zu langsam. überm Wald zu gefährlich. an manchen Spots liegt fast nix. wo anders genug... es ist viel Schnee für Dezember. eine gute Basis auch für die Vorberge auch wenn lokal die Höhen sehr stark schwanken. Windanfällige Bergflanken sind teils bis aufs gras frei von Schnee und zwar hoch bis zum Gipfel. 2km weiter kann man den Stock bis zur Hand versenken.
