Powder snow

Last week's snow is what it promises to be. Snow from last week. there is snow in the waadt from 500m, we were out and about between 2000 and 1100. A wild mixture of everything here: firn on the south-facing slopes, melting hard cover where the sun hasn't been (yet) and powder! where the sun has never reached, which means strictly north.

Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)

today officially a 2 in our climes. we see a lot of fish mouths on southern slopes and avoid crossings on steep southern slopes due to the warm midday temperatures. Otherwise no cracks, no wumm. at the top at altitude (≥ 3000) you can see wind flags:)

Overall impression

A melange of all colors in the Diablerets. He who seeks, finds: after reading a little terrain, you will find fresh, powdery, windless snow strictly north. Even enough for first tracks. You should avoid trees: the snow from last week has now become heavy from the sun, plumped down and so the snow consistency changes from tree to tree in dense coniferous forests. The wet, plumped down snow does not become softer in the north, of course, but retains its frozen cover. the untouched powder remains what it is - fun!
