Exposition
Snow condition
quite ok. you can get down the valley run. but in the open terrain, it's not just the snow that is miserable. there is easily 1-2m of snow missing to cover the many stones here. a sensible descent in the open ski area is extremely difficult to discover at the moment. after all, it's not so warm that everything is melting. a certain basis for new snowfalls remains good.
Snow quality
slopes quite ok. Below 2000m it gets quite icy. from 1700 onwards there is a pleasant sulz in the afternoon. off-piste there is an icy landscape with only little firn.
Risks
Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)
Due to the rain, a few ground avalanches have also occurred at higher altitudes. old or new snow slabs are visible. everywhere it comes back to the old snow layer. due to the rain, it is currently not clear when the avalanches all come from, you should be careful with wet snow. nevertheless, the danger of a corona infection or a ski avalanche prevails in the sometimes icy and stony conditions.
Overall impression
It could be worse. There have also been Januarys when there were still autumn meadows at 2000 m. But nevertheless, the possibilities of finding powder snow or even just snow with good grip in the terrain are very limited, rather impossible. If you are in the right place at the right time, you may be able to find good firn. But you have to pay attention to the snow conditions, as many slopes that soften up around midday continue to snow out or there are lots of rocks that no longer allow a free choice of route.
