Snow condition

... this quality is of no use if there is too little snow. Ascent just about possible, but with permanent stone contact, descent possible with extreme caution up to 1500m (photo), stone contact also unavoidable. Then carry down. To be able to ski properly here, you would need 1m of snow. The Ammergau is probably the worst place in the Bavarian Alps to go ski touring. There was very little snow before the WE, and hardly any during the snowfall. In some places there was only fresh snow, even though there hasn't been any sun in the cirque for weeks.

Small-scale wind-pressed, otherwise good, but...

Sharks and terrain traps are the problem...

Overall impression

Wenn man mehr zu Fuß absteigen muss als man auf dem Brett fahren kann, dann ist's einfach schlecht. Immerhin Sonne und (aus gutem Grund) sonst keiner unterwegs.
