Snow condition

Descent into the valley without ground contact, summit region much snow removed by the wind. Ridges partly snow-free

Snow quality

The plan was Geißhorn but there was only slab powder there so on the south side some firn then over to the Allgäu to Willersalp in north slopes preserved powder up to Zirleseck finest sulz snow

not quite as delicate. The cornices in summit ridges indicate large snow loads in some places.

Overall impression

Enjoyed the good weather again today. Found more powder snow. Standard tours were very busy at the weekend. Weather change tomorrow with rain and snow.
