Snow condition

Actually very good, if it weren't for the many blown-off areas. In total, probably 25-30 cm of fresh snow from the last two days.

Snow quality

As expected, not as good as yesterday. The north side, where it was reasonably sheltered from the wind, was still the best.

As always this season, there were massive wind signs in the terrain where I have never seen them before. There was no avalanche activity to be seen in the classic freeride terrain. Drift snow only came loose behind the edges of the terrain, where you would have expected it. What was unpleasant were the hard spots that appeared somewhat unexpectedly, where you quickly realized whether you had done the last edge service conscientiously.

Overall impression

Vormittags wollte aufgrund der schlechten Sicht und des windgepressten Schnees noch keine rechte Freude aufkommen (2*). Die Runs am sonnigen Nachmittag im (weitestgehend) windgeschützten Nordsektor haben aber dann doch noch Euphorie ausgelöst (4*). Unterm Strich ein ziemlich guter 3* Freeride-Tag! Morgen kann man sich mit Fellen sicher sehr gute Runs erarbeiten, wenn man weiß, wo wenig Wind war.
