Snow condition
The forest is (still) very well snowed in, forest ditches but also normal high forest good to ride (the snow was still best there anyway). As always on the high plateau, there is a lot of blowing snow, but you can get through easily (even if there is a lot of horrible, icy "snow"). Descent to the bus station.
Snow quality
Everything available, always tending to be on the worse side. On shady, wind-protected slopes, "sugar snow" with a breeze of surface frost on a load-bearing layer of old snow. Otherwise, lots of hard-packed snow (up to ice) at the top of the plateau, "slab powder", some south-facing, wind-protected parts were also a bit firny. Otherwise, however, it was too cold and stormy for firn. Of course, there was also some drift snow of varying hardness ...
Wind drifted snow
Intensity: low
Risks
Wind intensity: High (40 – 60 km/h)
No danger signs visible. Horrible, icy cold wind (southeast). The summit has an LWD wind measuring station: 60 km/h with gusts of 70 km/h. And that at -10 degrees (midday). I haven't been this cold (on my face and fingers) all winter (despite the bright sunshine!).
Overall impression
