Snow condition

At the end of March, the descent should still go as far as Ferden, today about 300m of skiing, before that skiable with interruptions. There is very little snow overall, but a little more in the Lötschental.

Snow quality

The start at 9 a.m. with the cable car was ideal today, first descent already firn surfing. Towards the afternoon, the light started to pick up. Good radiation so far at night.

No typical warning signs for dry avalanches. With the soaking, however, the risk of wet snow avalanches increases as time progresses. We were unable to observe any fresh avalanches today until around 3 pm

Overall impression

Schöne Tour aufs Mauerhorn, 800m Aufstieg zu 2500m Abfahrt ist ein gutes Verhältnis. Sehr wenige Tourengänger angetroffen, alle wohl im Sommer Modus.
