It's getting worse and worse to the Lindauer Hütte, you have to carry a bit in the meantime. But then a comparatively good snow cover for this winter in comparison to the rest of the region arrives quite quickly.

Hard, pressed snow
Slush
Firn
Jelly snow

Firn goes well. You have to get out quite early to catch the rather short firn windows. At 10 o'clock in the morning it was already too warm in places on the east side. On the north side, the snow cover is now very hard and icy due to the warm temperatures and is still completely dry during the course of the day (danger of falling!!).

Risks

Crevasse or fall danger

Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)

On the south side, the snow cover is very quickly soaked down to depth. However, the main danger is the risk of falling down steep north-facing slopes. In addition, quite large avalanches can occur on steep, smooth rocks. The ascent to the Hoher Turm is therefore not ideal at the moment as there is still a lot of snow hanging on top and bubbling away. See photo of the Gippfel middle tower northwestwards

Equal

Large tower from the Lindauer Hütte. Not recommended for skiing as it is very icy. Looking for firn or waiting for Neuschner is better.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
