Descent to valley (to 1900 m)
Blown backs
Stone Contact avoidable

Sufficient snow at altitude, so that the few existing crevasses on the Sayferner are easy to close. Below 2,500 m and on the forest path to Vent, the route is partly open, so the carrying passages are limited to short sections. There is one longer passage (approx. 300 m), but this is not a problem.

Firn
Powder snow
Jelly snow

Good snow on the Hauslabkogel today. The upper area (2,900 - 3,400) was settled but powdery. With good timing (descent summit at 10.30 am) you can find good firn underneath.

Risks

Crevasse or fall danger
Diurnal warming
North-Eas

Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)

The danger mostly comes from the warming during the day and the risk of falling on the hard snow surface. Drifting snow was rather rare and small-scale.

Worse

To round off our little tour, we took in the Hauslabkogel with its beautiful north-facing slope and were rewarded with good snow conditions. All in all, 3 days of sunshine, (good) snow and a few summits, so what more could you want in spring after a rather modest winter in terms of snow depth.
