Snow condition

Up to 50 cm. But actually still too little for real skiing in the terrain (apart from very good-natured areas such as wind-protected meadows or very loose forest with good ground).

Snow quality

Dust on crust: 2 cm of fresh snow on a hard crust, loose old snow underneath.

Stones, dead wood and similar obstacles with little snow are the main hazards.

Overall impression

Noch etwas verhaltener Saisonauftakt am Alpenostrand. Am Niederalpl ist es zwar durchaus winterlich (nicht zuletzt auch durch kosmetischen Neuschnee, der die Bäume über Nacht angezuckert hat), aber zum Skifahren im Gelände noch suboptimal. Das kleine Skigebiet am Niederalplpass hat ebenfalls bereits geöffnet. Andrang hält sich auch hier aber noch in Grenzen.
