Exposition

East South-East South South-West

Snow condition

10 cm fresh snow
Descent to valley (to 1200 m)
Blown backs
Variations of snow cover

Even in the furthest snow-hole valleys, there's mostly nothing below 1400, I've carried a bit down. And at the top, strong winds, so constant changes from very little to lots of snow. Pines etc. up to high altitude, everything is open. It also rained again yesterday up to at least 1700.

Snow quality

2 von 5 Sterne
Hard, pressed snow
Breakable crust
Powder snow
Wind drifted snow

Something of everything, very variable. Under 1700 crushed snow with sugar on it. Very unfavorable for skiing rock slalom.

Wind drifted snow

North North-Eas East South-East South South-West West North-West

Intensity: strong

Risks

North-West

Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)

I was only on the flat below 2000, uncritical there and nothing observed. But there was a lot of wind and therefore drifting snow. Constant transitions from a little to a lot of snow. Since the crust was only present up to 1700, I would rather go along with the Allgäu LLB, which says a 3 from the tree line. The Vorarlberger says from 2000

Overall impression

2 von 5 Sterne
Better

Not really good. Uncomfortable wind and poor visibility at the top, stone slalom in the broken snow at the bottom... Hopefully the snow line will drop down to the valleys with the next precipitation. It's starting to get frustrating
