Snow condition

Up to 1200 meters without enemy contact! Below that it gets difficult, especially in the forest! Above that, you have a good base and you can already step on the gas

Snow quality

At the summit it is very windswept but between 1900 and 1400m very nice powder on a relatively soft base

There were clear signs of wind on the summits! There is a lot of drift snow in the summit area in the south and south-east slopes. Also beware of cornices. They are still relatively small but quite unstable

Overall impression

Top weather and decent snow in the Gesäuse! Still not too busy
