Absolute disaster. We were quite far back in the Glarus region. If you want to ski down to the valley, your ski tour should start at 1500m and be oriented firmly to the north. On the south side, the snow cover is closed from around 2000m.

Powder snow

Where the sun doesn't reach, it's really fine, about 30cm of powder. On the south side, we had something that would have been firn, but still needs a bit of time. Where the sun gets a little bit of it, it's just for shit.

Risks

Diurnal warming

Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)

We saw more of the drift snow yesterday in northern Glarus than further inland today. The wet snow seemed more problematic to me. There was also a gliding snow mouth on the north side at about 2000m.

Equal

There is still a lot to be gained, but the tour was chosen wisely.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
