Snow condition

We are a good month too early this year with the thinning out of the short forest section. The lower part of the north face is also getting thin. Only the gaps at the top are halfway comparable with the last few years

Snow quality

Perfect conditions for steep descents at the top. 20 cm and sometimes more on a soft surface, which often feels twice as deep on steep slopes. Fine and cold. Still usable in the shade in the middle section, but with a hard, slippery base.

Favorable snowpack structure, llb 1 . In an untracked ridge, a three-foot slab was kicked out of the turn, but very close to the surface. Sleet in it, but still very stable overall

Overall impression

Awesome conditions in the saddles of the griesner kars yesterday. Compensated for the poor season. Carry over the forest into the cirque.
