The snow conditions are quite good overall. All stones and similar obstacles are covered. However, the strong wind has exposed some of the ridges.

Snow quality

Hard, pressed snow

Wind drifted snow

The snow quality is very changeable. From fresh snow, which was easy to ski on, to hard, piste-like conditions and firn, everything was there today.

Intensity: medium

Risks

West

Wind intensity: High (40 – 60 km/h)

The main danger at higher altitudes is currently drifting snow. These packs can be large due to the strong winds in combination with fresh snow, but fortunately the good weather makes them easier to recognize.

Overall impression

3 von 5 Sterne

Well, didn't expect much in terms of snow quality, but was rewarded with a short, beautiful slope. Of course, it's debatable whether the 1,100 m ascent is worth it, but it's cool for the views and getting to know the touring terrain. Plus perfect sunny days and not much going on, what more could you want?
