There is a lot to experience in the Bregenzerwald over 1500. There is a lot of snow at altitude. It quickly becomes scarce further down.

Wind drifted snow

The snow in the north-facing gullies between Diedamskopf and Steinmandl is fantastic. Carefree to step on the gas!

Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)

Actually none. But it was blowing so hard, so gusty again and again, that it was actually enough for a 5cm snow slab in the afternoon. We did three runs in the same Expo NO. The third one was tough. Depending on how the wind continues, there is now drift snow from Sunday in the hollows. It remains to be seen what will happen with fresh snow on top.

Better

Top hammer. Full throttle runs in the shade. It's been a long time since I've experienced such nice snow. Great, fun terrain. Only the avalanche of cars in the evening is a deterrent.
