Different than expected

Snow condition

There's nothing at the bottom. You can ski down on forest roads up to about 1100 m. But there's a lot of snow at the top.

Snow quality

We expected firn and found powder. In fact, also on the south side. It had once snowed here up to at least 1800 m. What was below that is beyond my experience, we had taken the gondola to get there. But as soon as the sun is out, a blanket quickly covers the snow.

Sliding snow is an issue. We have also seen broken cornices.

Overall impression

Auch wenn es anders kam als gedacht, war es sehr lohnend. Wobei es nicht ganz trivial vorauszusagen ist, wo der Pulver denn dann wirklich ist.
