Snow conditions are good. You can get down the emergency path to the parking lot without unbuckling. During the course of the day there was another few centimetres of unproductive snowfall on top

Wind drifted snow

There was probably a lot of wind on the Pitztal Glacier on Saturday. Pretty much the entire snow surface is affected by the wind. The snow is quite difficult to ski and it's almost impossible to make progress on the flatter terrain as the snow is already a bit packed. Steeper sections were skied anyway. However, it doesn't seem very worthwhile as the snow is poor and the avalanche situation is more tense than in the lower, more wind-protected ski areas

Wind drifted snow

Intensity: strong

Altitude: 1700 m – 3400 m

Risks

South South-West West North-West

Wind intensity: High (40 – 60 km/h)

Between 2400 and 3400 there are clearly more danger signs. The wind has blown quite a lot up here. Towards Wildspitze you could see many snow flags on the ridge and summit

Equal
