Variations of snow cover

Visually, it looks relatively good because the last 10mm of snow has fallen with hardly any wind and almost all the ridges look white. But often there is only 5cm and even where there is 40cm you can get through to the ground without any problems as the entire snow cover consists of loose powder snow.

Snow quality

Powder snow

The quality of the snow is really good, nice cold powder snow with little wind

Risks

No warning signs
South

Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)

The main danger today came from hidden stones.

Overall impression

Better

It was actually clear to me that nothing would work in the Stubai Valley apart from artificial snow slopes - but I had a little hope that it might be enough in hollows/north-eastern slopes with mainly meadow surfaces. If there was a crust or a more compact layer somewhere in the snowpack, you could ski a few things. But this is currently not the case on the north side above 2000m and the entire snowpack is loose. Let's hope that there will be enough fresh snow so that the first tours away from the Arlberg can go well and you don't have to worry about ground contact with every turn.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
