Variations of snow cover

Very little snow for the time of year. Stones are sticking out in many places and not all tours are possible. On the south side, some parts up to 2,000 m are bare. Thanks to the toboggan run, however, it is possible to ski down almost as far as the parking lot.

Snow quality

Breakable crust
Powder snow
Jelly snow

The snow quality on the shaded side from 1,900 m is fine. Below this, you can feel the warm days of the past with significant moistening and the formation of a layer of hard snow. Very unpleasant to ski. Further up, the converted old snow builds up and is relatively easy to ski on.

Risks

Old snow problem
South

Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)

Favorable conditions before the snowfall, but a lot of old snow that has been transformed and can now serve as a weak layer.

Overall impression

Better

Tried a gully in the Pinnistal, but broke off about 2/3 of the way up due to the poor snow conditions. It was quite nice to ski, but could be much better and finer. Let's see what the fresh snow brings.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
