Snow condition

On the north side of the Col du Pillon there is a base that is ok and that you can work with, well below the average. And below that, it quickly becomes poor. There is nothing on the south side in the Simmental. The top of the Glacier is very inhomogeneous, as there is relatively little snow and wind.

Snow quality

Yesterday we had nice set powder, today a lot of compact wind pressed snow that made the legs glow. From Sex Rouge powder , slab , spring slush.

Fresh drift snow.

Overall impression

Good day on Glacier 3000 with very changeable snow conditions. This G3000 is always worth a trip and the descent from the summit to the valley is really great.
