Senderstal - Kleine Skitour vom Skigebiet aus
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
On the sunny side it still looks very bad, in the north(-east)-facing variant terrain ridges are blown away and gullies are blown in. But even there, there is still little snow, and the snow conditions in Senderstal are acceptable for ski tours. The toboggan run from the Kemater Alm to Grinzens is still easy to ski. There is not enough snow at the bottom, about 15 minutes' carry.
Snow quality
Still powdery snow on west/southwest-facing slopes. Combs blown off and hard. On the sunny side, slushy due to sunlight and relatively high temperatures.
Risks
Attention should definitely be paid to drifting snow. In the last few days and also this morning, a lot of snow has been transported. We could see a large avalanche cone on the north-east side down from Hochtennboden, so instead of climbing up to Malgrubenscharte (north side) we descended on the south-west side and did a short ski tour in Senderstal.
Overall impression
Small, but very nice tour. Continue via Hochtennboden towards Hochtennspitze and then descend westwards towards Kemater Alm. Skinned up at the bottom of Senderstal and ascended towards Kalkkögel. Skinned down below the mighty walls and from there had a beautiful and quite powdery descent
