Snow condition
In Ettenhausen you can just about get down to the parking lot, but only the finish slope is already open, above about 800 m it still looks very good except south, fresh snow today from about 1400 m (1 cm) to 1800 m (almost 10 cm, blown).
Snow quality
Really bad up to a good 1500 m. The worst brakes down to the bottom. It's best in rutted tracks. At the top, on the other hand, the fresh snow, where it has remained even, is quite appealing and fast
Risks
At some point, you think, all the sliding snow avalanches have to be down. You can see them everywhere you look. Above the Wuhrsteinalm, an older one has blown down two large, old spruce trees, which previously served as natural avalanche protection for the huts below. The people of Almer certainly don't like this. Otherwise, the snow cover seemed quite stable, even the thin fresh snow on the old one. On steep south-facing slopes (at all altitudes), the old snow feels quite rotten in places and you can fall through with your poles.
Overall impression
The snow was good for walking, but only good for skiing at the top. Second star only because tours are still so uncomplicated and I still caught the weather window. Skiing is only fun for people who always enjoy it. Otherwise you'd rather be on the slopes at the moment.
