Women-Only Skitouren- & Freeridecamp in Engelberg

Description

Would you like to conquer the mountains with other women and become more confident and secure in the process? Then the Women Only Freeride & Tours Camp is just right for you! In an all-female environment, an open and supportive atmosphere is encouraged that allows you to learn more freely and better develop your personal strengths - this is exactly what this three-day camp is all about. Here you can perfect your tour planning in a small group, improve your skiing and freeriding skills and learn important techniques such as rope and hardware handling. The aim of the camp is for you to be able to plan and carry out tours and freeride descents independently, be confident in the terrain and get to know like-minded women.

All Women Only Freeride & Tour Camps are offered for different skill levels. From MILD//STARTER to HELL// SKI FREAK, there are many gradations so that the course can pick you up and take you further exactly where it suits you best. Program

• Freeride skiing technique (1/2 day)

• Alpine skiing technique (1/2 day)

• Avalanche training for companion rescue / first aid (1/2 day plus workshop)

• Ski mountaineering / adventure skiing (1 day)

• Bad weather options (as little as possible, as much as necessary ;) )

It is always possible that the camp cannot be held according to the program due to foehn storms, lack of snow or similar silly situations. A valuable alternative program is available for you at the bottom of the valley. Further information on the individual program contents can be found here.

Equipment

Clothing:

• Gore-Tex ski jacket

• Ski trousers

• Warm clothing

• Gloves (2 pairs)

• Cap or headband

• Helmet

• Ski goggles

Technical material:

• Backpack (ideally ABS)

• Avalanche equipment (avalanche transceiver, avalanche shovel, avalanche probe)

• Freeride skis or splitboard

• Skins & ski-crampons

• Ski boots

• Ski poles

• Climbing harness

• 4 x screw carabiners

• Band sling 120 cm

• Rep cord 4 m

• Prusic sling

• Abseiling device (ATC, figure of eight or similar)

• Potentially: Ice axe and crampons

Other:

• Sunglasses

• Sun cream

• Maybe: camera or GoPro

• Ski ticket

• Half-fare travelcard (if available)

• Money for cable cars, taxi and drinks

If equipment (avalanche transceiver, probe, shovel, climbing harness with screw-gates, ABS) is required, this can be hired. Please book in advance.
