Penguin Parka - The jacket to extend
The Swiss manufacturer continues to use its high-quality Dermizax membrane and can absolutely hold its own against GoreTex and the like. The new 3-layer line was explicitly developed for wild days in the powder and is therefore not only stylish, but above all robust and waterproof. It is still breathable so that you stay dry when you're on the move and the wide cut gives you room for ideas. We are already looking forward to testing the jacket extensively.
In addition, the jacket can be extended into a parka for certain colors. Johannes from our team has already had a look at it at the trade fair, here's his impression and pictures.
Arc'teryx Procline AR - More descent, just as much ascent
The Canadians from Arc'teryx have further developed their ascent-oriented Procline ski touring boot, so that a little more downhill suitability has been added. The new Procline AR offers the same agility on the ascent as its predecessor, the Procline Carbon. You could almost say that the boot has grown up. While it was previously a boot that was great for ascents, it is now a sporty version that is at least as good for descents.
Arcteryx says this boot is absolutely balanced, meaning 50% ascent and 50% descent performance. The main new features are the "gaiter" at the entrance, the wide powerstrap, and the extended "beak", which now makes the boot compatible with most common crampons.
In addition, the shaft is a little higher, the stiffness higher, but the shaft rotation a little lower. The shell has been thinned a little, which has resulted in a little more space, especially in the forefoot area (previously around 90mm, now more like a 100mm last). There is a men's and women's version of this boot.
