4* FWQ Premiere in Livigno

The first 4* FWQ in Italy

by Tobias Huber • 02/03/2015
Livigno wants to make a name for itself as a freeride destination and has organized a 4* FWQ to bring together the up-and-coming contest freeriders and show the scene what the duty-free resort in Italy has to offer in terms of terrain. On February 3, 2015, 78 athletes competed against each other in the usual categories of ski men, ski women, snowboard men and snowboard women within 6 hours in Val Cantone.

The information from Livigno is still very sparse at the moment, but PowderGuide is hoping for an event video in the near future. In addition to a picture and the results list, it is known that the originally planned face had to be changed as the weather and snow did not play along.

Originally, the event was planned for Corna die Capra, an imposing face that looked very interesting in the photo in spring conditions. However, the contest was held close to the slopes in Val Cantone. A look at the results shows that the Norwegian Dennis Risvoll won the men's ski category with 89.33 points and Laure Vailly (83.33) won the women's ski category. The snowboard classification was won by Germany's Johannes Schnitzer (81.00) in the men's event and Anna Orlova (75.00) in the women's event. For Johannes Schnitzer, FWT rider in the 2014 season, an important step towards qualifying for the FWT again.

As soon as more information is available in the form of pictures or videos, there will be an update here.
