Event tip | schnÖGSLn

The "schnÖGSLn" format already took place live twice last season in Innsbruck's Treibhaus. As this is currently not possible for known reasons, it will take place virtually this time. This makes it less sociable, but both speakers and viewers from further afield can join in. The talks will be broadcast in a YouTube live stream: LINK.

The topics

The schnÖGSLn 2021 is divided into 4 blocks, in which the speakers give an entertaining short talk on a given topic at the beginning. This is followed by an open, interactive discussion among the guests and the audience.

The event will be moderated by Peter Plattner - mountain guide, expert and managing director of the Board of Trustees for Alpine Safety - and Jan-Thomas Fischer, President of the ÖGSL and Head of the Snow & Avalanche Department at the BFW in Innsbruck.

The ÖGSL is a non-profit association dedicated to the promotion of teaching, development, training and application in the field of applied snow and avalanche research and related areas. An annual membership costs €50, €35 for students, and includes an annual subscription to bergundsteigen. You also receive advance information on interesting events and can take part live in the monthly "Semmelnaren" (series of lectures on a wide range of snow and avalanche topics, often rather "scientific").
