On Friday (1.12.), there will be half-hour presentations by Christoph Mitterer and Alexander Prokop on the topics Remote triggering - keeping your distance from avalanches and In search of the weak layer and the dimensions of the snowboard - an international comparison of the snowpack characteristics on the Arlberg. Afterwards, the necessity of guidelines for off-piste skiing will be debated in a panel discussion, which will also include representatives of the mountain railroads.
On Saturday, Benedikt Böhm will talk about his ski expeditions at 8000m and decision-making in the death zone. Manfred Ruoß will then give a lecture entitled: "Whoever slows down loses" - dealing with personal limits and objective risks in the snow.
