The second tour stop of the Freeride World Tour will take place in Chamonix next weekend from January 21, 2012. There are probably few places that have the aura of Chamonix, nowhere are the mountains so high, the descents so steep and the flair so fitting. The second tour stop is under the "bad" omen of the renewed north-west jam. Large amounts of fresh snow are also expected in Chamonix on the planned contest weekend. What is a powder addict's joy - namely a good load of fresh new snow - poses problems for the organizers of a freeride competition due to the poor visibility and planning conditions. The current status (Thursday afternoon, 19.2.2012) is that the contest will probably take place on Sunday, 22.1.2012. We will keep you informed of any further postponements.
