Freeride Film Festival 2013 | Tour stop Vienna

Huge crowds at the Freeride Film Festival in Vienna

Full, full, - Freeride Film Festival. That was the first impression you got at this year's tour stop in Vienna. The queues at the box office, at the advance ticket collection and at the face check at the entrance were huge. Many of the riders from the films presented were also there this year, and this time they were even driven from one tour stop to the next in a tour bus, which created a bit of a rock star feeling.

Some companies had set up their stands in the foyer and the drinks flowed freely at the bar. The evening was hosted by freeride pro Flo Orley, vice world champion of the Freeride World Tour, and Radio FM4 presenter Heinz Reich, who already has plenty of relevant experience, as he is FM4's number one contact person on the subject of freeride. After each film, there was an interesting discussion on stage with the actors or producers of the films. The lucky winners of the Freeride Film Festival competition were also drawn and were able to look forward to skis or a vacation weekend, among other things. Seven films were presented, for example the film "Shades of Winter", a successful interplay of music and images in which skiers such as Sandra Lahnsteiner and Lorraine Huber showed off their skills.
The other films also impressed with exciting lines and good stories. The Freeride Film Festival has definitely become a fixture in the calendar of events for mountain enthusiasts in Vienna. For the next event, a larger location would even be desirable in order to accommodate all powder-hungry people.
