?We got too much snow? - is how this year's strip from MSP begins. This also makes it clear what it's all about. Lots of deep and particularly deep fresh snow and lots of skiing action. A movie in classic MSP style.
Lots of powder here, lots of powder there, and not much powder in the Alps. This is nothing new for most freeriders here in the Alps and overseas. And yet you still enjoy watching Attack of la Nina, even if you're not masochistically inclined. Lots of powder snow and good action, that's where MSP gets its raison d'être for its films - and that's perfectly fine. Some positive outliers through new camera techniques and choice of perspective, as well as the easily digestible humor, offer a very entertaining pleasure. Anyone who doesn't have a happy smile on their face after watching it either doesn't know the beneficial effects of powder snow or has a deep-seated personality problem (or the viewer simply isn't interested in skiing).
And if you didn't quite get it after watching the trailer, La Nina is a cyclical weather phenomenon that regularly leaves the north-west of North America covered in powder snow. The joke that the "bitch" is back probably needs no further explanation at this point.
Conclusion
Lots of snow, lots of action, a dose of easily digestible humor, good craftsmanship. Eh voila, another successful work from the MSP forge. A nice "ski porn" with lots of action and powder snow, exactly what you would expect from MSP. Whether as light evening entertainment or background noise for a party, Attack of la Nina is a good buy for anyone who loves deep snow.
