The freeski film by PVS features numerous French freeski stars who have been showcasing their skills in numerous film parts for many years. The film offers a mix of freeride and park hopping, with 9-year-old Kelly Sildaru shining with an impressive freestyle part that puts many others in the shade.
Locations include Canada (Revelstoke, WhiteWater), USA (Jackson Hole), which impress with scenes of waist-high snow and mighty pillows. A trip to Norway to the Lofoten Islands can also be seen, as can a trip to Lebanon, although unfortunately the country and the people do not make an appearance here, only numerous walls and railings.
The viewer has to get used to the French humor and the action between the ski scenes, or they don't.
The camera work, editing and music are not at the very highest level, but this certainly adds to its appeal. The unfamiliar faces in particular make this movie interesting.
Conclusion
The French Freeski Movie will not go down in the history of ski films, but it is still a movie with nice powder interludes and park hopping. The partly unknown riders and the masses of snow in North America still make this movie a nice way to pass the time.
