Now, for the first time in the new winter, there is enough snow for more or less sensible ski tours. Did I think about the problem with the inner boots? Of course not.
I remembered it again when I put on my ski boots in the parking lot. Did I then take my ski boots and socks off again and wrap tape around the vulnerable areas before I set off? Of course I didn't. It's not that far and the hole in the inner boot doesn't feel that bad.
Do I have blisters now? Of course.
Luckily, I still had blister plasters left over from the spring, so I was able to continue going on more or less sensible ski tours at the weekend. I don't usually care about brand names, but when it comes to blister plasters, I'll go the extra mile for Compeed. In my extensive experience, the drugstores' own brands last much less well, even if they look completely the same. The Compeed parts almost always stay on the blisters and don't go into the socks as a kind of sticky chewing gum, as is often the case with other manufacturers. The sock gum effect can be avoided by additional taping, but on longer tours the tape will eventually get stuck in the sock.
