This boot can be found at Salewa under the heading "Alpine Life/Leisure Footwear" and is described as an après-snow boot, it also belongs to this category for me. The chunky and somewhat bulky appearance is certainly justified. It should give your feet enough space to relax before/after an enjoyable powder day in stiff and tight ski boots. The soft PrimaLoft lining keeps your feet comfortably warm even when walking in the fresh mountain air and is very comfortable to wear. The heel area of the Capsico can be folded up and the shoe can be worn "normally" closed, or you can fold the heel in and wear it "slipper style". I prefer the latter, as it allows me to slip in and out quickly and comfortably. It offers sufficient support for everyday life in the hut and is also suitable for driving to the desired location if necessary, until you can slip into the cramped ski boots.
On the subject of "grip" and sole, here you could think you have a winter tire mounted on your foot, at least that's what the very grippy sole looks like, the development of which was inspired by the automotive industry. Quality leather is used for the upper material and the lacing combines the SALEWA "Y" to the 3D lacing system. This is designed to better distribute the pulling force of the laces over the entire foot. Personally, I never use the lacing, as the shoe offers me enough support even in "slipper style".
The Capsico is not "love at first sight" for me, but as it is ... once you get used to each other, you can't get away from each other...
