The 30-liter backpack from Evoc goes by the name "Freeride Guide" because it simply fits a bit more than conventional daypacks. And that's exactly why I like the backpack: Evoc-style, the backpack sits perfectly on the back and the additional kidney belt-like hip belt ensures that the backpack literally sticks to the back even when jumping.
And it really fits a lot of luggage in the two well thought-out chambers: Not only the obligatory avalanche emergency equipment, but also some additional luggage: a change of clothes, large camera, provisions, etc.
The well thought-out carrying system makes the backpack pleasantly "light" even when fully loaded. I therefore don't use the backpack on short and medium-length tours, but also for shopping. Even if the back protector is not necessarily useful at the weekly market.
It should also be mentioned that the backpack has a practical, cuddly soft goggle compartment, and there are also suitable attachment and stowage options for all avalanche emergency equipment essentials. It is also possible to remove the protector from the backpack and wear it without the backpack, as a classic back protector.
The attachment and lashing systems are well designed and stable enough. In the one-and-a-half-year long-term gear review, I have not noticed any excessive wear, apart from a small sharp-edge cut.
The backpack officially costs 159 euros.
