With the Hybrid 2.15 OTIS Body Vest, Marker has brought a well-designed, comfortable protector onto the market. The protector adapts very well to the back and sits well on the body thanks to the vest with zipper and kidney belt. The protector can also be removed from the vest and worn without it.
The protector consists of three individual layers of MAP material (sandwich construction) which are only connected to each other in the middle under the spine protection. According to Marker, this makes it possible for the layers to slide over each other when the body moves, allowing them to adapt to the curvature of the back without resistance. Marker received an ISPO Gold Award for this technology back in 2014.
The zipper still works perfectly even after more than 20 days of skiing, and the protector generally impresses with its good workmanship. Even the Velcro fastener on the kidney belt still holds perfectly. When ski touring, however, it's like most protectors - you sweat unbelievably. However, when freeriding or skiing on the piste, it has been my constant companion up to now and will remain so in the future. The good fit was convincing for me.
