Tester and test conditions
I am approx. 177 cm tall and weigh 64 kg. I combine the jacket with the Flylow Nina Pant (Gear of the Week), both fit me perfectly in size M. Up to now I've been wearing a hard shell jacket and have put on a thin down jacket underneath for insulation. I've been wearing the jacket since the beginning of the season in very cold temperatures right through to spring. For skiing, freeriding, shopping and ski touring. The jacket has been worn a lot and tested in almost all conditions.
First impression
The Daphne Jacket from Flylow is not a pure hardshell, but a wind and weatherproof jacket, which is lightly insulated with 80g Primaloft Eco to withstand sub-zero temperatures. When I held the jacket in my hands for the first time, I was surprised by the very light weight of the jacket - or rather the coat.
Of course, the jacket is equipped with all the usual features. For example, it has a helmet-compatible hood that can be adjusted with an elastic band, wrist warmers and Velcro-adjustable cuffs. The snow guard is detachable and the jacket hem can be adjusted with an elasticated drawstring. The jacket also has a variety of pockets, namely a pocket for the ski pass on the left sleeve, two large zippered chest pockets, two large zippered side pockets, an open mesh inner pocket and an inner i-Pod/mobile phone pocket with zipper and hole for headphone cable.
When I put it on, I felt practically nothing on my shoulders, this jacket is really super light. Is it really warm enough? It does make a rather thin impression...
