The first Downdays Freeski Journal of winter 2012 (which is still stubbornly refusing to finally begin) has been published. The 4th edition of the thick and elegantly designed book-like magazine is the so-called Storybook. It is actually clear that it mainly tells freeskiing stories in text and picture form. The fact that they are told very skillfully is also very good.
Once again, the team around editor-in-chief and freeski veteran Klaus Polzer has succeeded in producing a booklet full of great winter and ski stories in a modern design. A successful mix of (ski) travel stories from near and far, e.g. Norway or the Dolomites, plus lots of entertaining stories and various interviews with the demigods of the freeski and freeride scene.
If you like reading ski magazines but are put off by the often unpleasant density of PR texts and product placements, you will find a slightly different magazine in the Downdays storybook: a freeskiing magazine, from the scene, for the scene.
