Hooray, the weather is here!

We have weather.

by PowderGuide 12/15/2017
We are happy to announce: The PowderGuide weather service is back! Fresh snow, sunshine, SnowGrid, text forecast all now also on PG 3.0!

The weather menu of PG 3.0 was still pretty empty, as many users have already noticed and criticized, or wrapped up in euphemistic half-questions ("I can't find the weather?!"). Now everything is different! Under the weather tab at the top right next to Magazine and Community you will now find the snow and sunshine forecasts, text forecasts and the SnowGrid maps again, all provided as usual by the ZAMG.

The weather, like the rest of PowderGuide, has been visually modernized and there are also a few new features that we think are pretty good! The maps should be intuitive to use. The legend for the color scale for new snow and sunshine forecasts appears when you press the small info-i at the bottom right. In the map view, you can display ConditionsReports and the snow or sunshine forecast at the same time. The CRs can be filtered by topicality and star rating ("overall impression").

The zoomable SnowGrid maps are also back and have their own sub-item in the weather menu. In the SnowGrid view, you can select which map you want to see using the dropdown at the top left. You can switch from the total snow depth map to 24h, 48h or 72h snow depth difference, i.e. the amount of snow in the last 24, 48 or 72h (with settling). From next winter, these maps will also be available under PG-Maps!

We hope you like the new PowderGuide weather as much as we do and hope you enjoy planning your future powder days!

- The PG Team
