How exactly is this calculated?
The measured amount of new snow is subtracted from the tipped amount of new snow and the amount is calculated. This figure is then divided by the measured amount of fresh snow, i.e. normalized, and called the "quota". If no tip was submitted, the odds are 1, i.e. 100% deviation. The five best odds of each player are totaled and divided by 5. This average deviation is the final result, the smaller the better. PS: As the definition of the new snow total was not clear in the first prediction, we have made up for it here and made it more specific.
Every prediction "wins"!
From now on, there'll always be a prize for the winner of the day in each prediction game, or rather for the PowderAlert winner. What this prize is in particular will not be revealed in advance, but rest assured that it will be practical "little things" from the PowderGuide product range...

How do I take part?
Since only the five best tips are counted towards the season prize, it's definitely worth entering. There are usually 15-20 PowderAlerts in a winter season and just as many tips: We (hopefully) haven't reached the halfway mark yet. To play along, all you have to do is:
read the PowderAlerts regularly so as not to miss a tip
