She was a participant in the Nebelhorn Classics, which took place on Saturday, March 16, 2013. Against a fantastic backdrop, over 100 skiers battled their way down the challenging course through the off-piste terrain between the Nebelhornbahn summit station and the Seealpe. There were 944 vertical meters to overcome in three different disciplines: telemark, ski and snowboard. The runs are scored as individual, team or in the king-size classification - where one skier competes with all three winter sports equipment. Julia Pudschun, 36, from Schaffhausen in Switzerland, is a member of the Goodboards team. She came second in the women's king-size classification, second in the women's telemark and second in the women's snowboard. A great success! She actually only started because she likes the atmosphere of the race and wanted to prove to herself that she is not yet an old hand at 36. Above all, however, her enthusiasm for the sport is her main priority. Snowboard, telemark, then skiing. This is Julia's planned sequence. Logistically and organizationally quite an effort. Start at 11 a.m., just below the summit station of the Nebelhornbahn.

Julia gets by quite well on the snowboard. Her safest discipline. The course is challenging, but the conditions are good overall. She manages the cornices right at the beginning and the jumps of the new course well (up to 20 meters in some places) and gets through the steeper sections smoothly. She also manages the waves well. As a snowboarder, however, the long gliding section up to the Seealpe is murderous. Once she reaches the finish, she rides the two gondolas back up to the summit station. The gondolas are full and there are long waiting times. Change of equipment. Telemark. Not much time to recover.

Start number 2 - the same route again. She actually knows the route now. However, the second run is very exhausting. Julia is determined to reach the finish line. She doesn't really care about the time now. When she arrives at the Seealpe, she is already pretty exhausted. But she changes her equipment a third time and sets off on the route. In the meantime, the route has not become any easier. The snow has become more rutted and bumpy. The euphoria of having completed the last run soon keeps her going. She arrives at the finish line overjoyed and is simply happy to have reached the bottom. Second place is well deserved!

Thanks to Sven Gittermann and his team, the event is well organized and features great prizes from the sponsors O'Neill and K2. The subsequent Classics Party in the Hörbar and the barbecue at Out of Bounds bring the day to a close in typical Allgäu comfort.
