The name PLUM, derived from the French "plume" (feather), is a symbol of innovative quality. This is because Plum focuses on simplicity, durability and lightness in its bindings.

Since its foundation in 2005, the French family-run company PLUM has established itself as a pioneer in lightweight ski touring and splitboard bindings. With a focus on simplicity, durability and lightness, the name PLUM, derived from the French "plume" (feather), is a symbol of innovative quality.

The company's roots go back to 1968, when Henri Félisaz manufactured lathe parts in the Arve Valley. His sons Jean-Michel and Albert Félisaz took over the company in the 1990s and channelled their enthusiasm for skiing into its development. This is how PLUM was born in 2005 and with it the first binding that heralded a new era of ultra-light ski touring bindings.

PLUM is a French family business that produces 100% in France. All production steps, from design to assembly, take place locally in Thyez, with the majority of suppliers also located within a radius of 30 kilometres, which enables efficient and regional cooperation. In addition to short distances, the use of sustainable materials is also important to Plum. The focus is on recycling and the use of recyclable materials. Aluminium waste is recycled directly in the production process to minimise the ecological footprint.

PLUM's innovative strength is evident in products such as the GUIDE binding for FreeTouring (2010) and the splitboard bindings (2014), which were specially developed for demanding mountain sports enthusiasts who prioritise performance and reliability. PLUM also demonstrates its creativity by covering the different but closely related requirements of these disciplines in equal measure. From lightweight competition models to freeride and splitboard bindings, Plum offers a wide range of products. The competition series is characterised by minimal weight and performance, while the Oazo series is tailored to ascent-oriented ski tourers and the Karibou series is aimed specifically at the freeride community. The company gets new ideas and feedback from its athletes and customers through feedback from Bindung.

Speaking of athletes. This is an opportunity for the Plum family to have their say:

Vivian Bruchez, steep skier and long-time PLUM athlete, describes the partnership more like a big family. He particularly appreciates the fact that his wishes are taken into account and that his comments and experiences from the terrain are implemented. And that means virtually overnight! He says: "When I needed a special modification, I had the solution in my hand the next day. This dedication makes PLUM unique.". He agrees with athlete and coach Yannick Ecoeur. He also emphasises the active involvement in shaping the products: "The collaboration with PLUM is rare and valuable. They integrate our feedback directly into the development process and thus create products that are not only high-performance but also trustworthy. The family atmosphere provides additional motivation."

Tom Grant is a mountain guide from Chamonix. He also praises the openness and direct dialogue with the team: "I appreciate the robustness and versatility of the PLUM bindings, especially the Pika, which strikes a perfect balance between weight and stability. Even without sponsorship, I would recommend the products - they are simply outstanding."

Plum is therefore more than just products. It is part of the local mountain world. PLUM stands not only for technical excellence, but also for the enthusiasm and team spirit that characterise mountain sports. Every binding tells the story of a brand that redefines the limits of what is possible in close dialogue with its "family".
