namuk and their study on children's outdoor time
namuk has been developing innovative and sustainable outdoor clothing for children aged 0-12 in Zurich since 2016. The good pieces are sold in Switzerland, Europe and the USA. namuk's products are designed for maximum durability and re-use, which means that the clothes are made to last several life cycles. namuk's vision is to inspire a love of nature in children.
In December 2023, namuk surveyed 1046 parents in German-speaking Switzerland, French-speaking Switzerland and Ticino about their children's outdoor time and the factors that influence it.
The result: According to the parents surveyed, children in Switzerland spend an average of around 1.5 hours a day outdoors, with minimal differences between girls and boys in terms of outdoor time. The majority of parents surveyed stated that they had spent more time outdoors as children than their own children do today. Surprisingly, children of parents with a higher income and a higher level of education tend to spend less time outdoors.
