This means, in a less disguised way, that we will hardly get any snow this winter without ski resort closures and "monster storms" (as tabloid meteorologists on Focus have called the current hurricane). It used to be different, I think. Everything used to be better too, I know that because I am old! There was always meters of snow without wind and I was about to join the Freeride World Tour. Every year anew!
This winter, Ullr seems to send a hurricane for some fresh snow every time. Okay, you have to live with that.
Alert period and areas
From northern France to the Dachstein. The cores are always in the inner alpine western accumulations, if there is such a thing. However, the alarm tends to be only just full towards the western Valais or Arlberg, for example, east of the Arlberg, if at all.
It will all be over by midday on Wednesday.
Wind
Nothing more needs to be written. Tomorrow, Monday, probably won't open up much. Then it'll be a little less, but it'll be gale-force until Tuesday lunchtime. It'll be over by Wednesday.
The snow will blow God knows where, up to the main ridge and certainly beyond in France, but I'd avoid the foothills of the Alps. Inner alpine and sheltered is the motto.
