Alert period and areas

The alert goes until Friday night and only one last flake should fall in the early hours of Saturday morning. The area extends from the Hautes Alpes to the Maritime Alps and from the Simplon to Slovenia, with the main precipitation coming from the Upper Engadine to Slovenia.

Wind

It will be quite fresh, as always at 3000m with fresh snow, but there will probably only be storms in the east. It's a different story in the north with Föhn

Medium-term

The medium-term forecast looks more westerly or north-westerly, meaning that the French Alps and the northern side of the Alps could possibly be hit with new alerts from Sunday to the middle of next week. At least in theory. After that, Ullr doesn't seem to have made up its mind yet. Many things are possible, from warm flushes up to 2000m or new snow. The outlook tends to be rather unpleasant from Wednesday onwards.
