Ski movie trailers as a mirror of society: last season, some lockdown ski home videos still focused on the new and unfamiliar situation and went "ski touring" in gardens and living rooms. This year, having arrived in a new normality, the cinematic focus is on nature experiences in the immediate vicinity with the closest crew.

3 Powderpeople who end in i, ie and y? We dedicate this issue to three influential figures in our freeride culture: Eric Hjorleifson, aka HojI, JeremIE Heitz and CodY Townsend. The last two are certainly also interesting interview candidates. Hm?

Today we're bringing you the best of the best. Our protagonists have used their talent, stamina and style to become stars of the scene and won't let up! So: sit back and enjoy!

We conclude the Videos of the Week season with a stocktaking: how are all the powder junkies and gully hazardeurs, park kids and ski touring fanatics coping under house arrest? What substitutes are needed? Videos of the week, for example? We see that some do it with style, others with style, and the best thing is that we all continue to do nothing at all out there!

If you can't think of anything, then you watch VLOGs. A bit of something has come together. At the end of the day, once again  PowderGuide contest reporter Tobias Huber saves us with his season edit.

The trailer didn't really convince me, but the movie makes it clear right from the start that Winterland will once again be one of the better TGR flicks. Despite the Warren Milleresque title.

Films about skiing fall under the umbrella term "ski porn". The porn aspect probably refers to the fact that there is often little or no framing story and that you don't have to think about it because of the moneyshots. There are occasionally films that do it differently, or at least try to. The complexity of the plot is usually somewhere between "Why is there straw here" and Fifty Shades of Grey.

The riders from Team Europe and Team America have already battled it out twice at the SWATCH SKIERS CUP in Valle Nevado, Chile. After losing at the premiere in 2011, Team Americas was able to equalize in September 2012: The duel between the continents is now tied 1:1. This starting position now heightens the tension ahead of the third edition of this event, as one of the teams is sure to take the lead when the SWATCH SKIERS CUP makes its first appearance in the northern hemisphere: From February 10 to 15, 2013, the freeskiers will meet again in Zermatt (CH)!
