PowderAlert 07 – Dumpicane
12/15/2011 • Lars OelmannIt's dumping! And that in hurricane-force winds! The appropriate name for the upcoming system for freeriders would be: Dumpicane. Now that last week's dump has been digested and photographed, this week will see a punctual replenishment on the northern and western slopes of the Alps. It has already started to snow in the west and north of Switzerland and in France today and the front will also move eastwards along the northern edge of the Alps during the course of the day. -

PowderAlert 02 – The powder squirrel feeds hard
10/18/2011 • Lars OelmannNow that the snow from two weeks ago, as predicted in the first alert, is hardly present below 2300 m, some more is coming: from France via the Vaud Alps to the Arlberg, around 20-30 cm will accumulate, as there is no real accumulation and the front is only moving across the Alps. -

SpotCheck | La Grave
12/27/2008 • Dan CarusoGood times were had by all last Saturday just an hour from the metropolis of Grenoble, at the hidden gem of the Alps, La Grave. This rustic little village sits in the shadows of the La Mieje massif and serves as the gateway to the Parc des Ecrins, and it is home to some of the wildest and challenging ski terrain on Earth. On December 20th, the Téléphérique at TGM opened the doors to an excited crowd of backcountry skiers, and the season is off to a great start.
