I was eagerly awaiting the semester break. Not only because you have a bit more time then, but above all because it meant: off to Austria again!

23.12.14, 5.13 p.m. I'm now sitting at Innsbruck train station and looking back on a great week. It was great there in Sölden during the Risk'n'Fun session.

In winter 2013/14, 20-year-old freeskier Adrian Sauter completed the first three camp levels of the Austrian Alpine Club's freeride training program - Risk'n'Fun. Adrian Sauter is the winner of the three training levels that Risk'n'Fun and PowderGuide have jointly awarded. The 20-year-old freeskier will take part in the Risk'n'Fun camps "Training Session", "Next Level" and "Chill Out" and report on his impressions and learning progress on PowderGuide.

Will all my hours of training in the gym, in the forest and on the meadow since the beginning of January pay off? With these thoughts and a good dose of respect but also a lot of anticipation for the coming week, I get into the car with Thomas, who, like me, was a participant in the risk'n'fun training session in Sölden. In a good mood, we make our way to the Klostertal valley to the Sonnenkopf on the Arlberg, where we continue with Level 2, the next level.

For the second year, Diamir and other partners are offering the Freeride Education Camp. This coming weekend (January 7 & 8, 2012), everything you need to know about freeride mountaineering will once again be taught in a rustic atmosphere at the Cabane Mt. Fort and in the excellent off-piste terrain of Verbier. After the first camp (Galtür) had to be canceled due to a lack of snow, Verbier now offers great freeride conditions. And the next dump is coming up just in time for the weekend.
